We started with a sketch up of new indoor garden plans. My 3 and 5yo boys are enjoying the process of developing an idea into an actual project plan. We call it the “Magic Garden”.
Once we roughed out our idea on paper, we bought the needed supplies and began our assembly process. Here you see plastic gutter cut into 3 equal length sections. We used a surplus outdoor garden low-flow, drip irrigation kit to deliver the nutrients. The gutter sections are sitting on top of our “cistern”, which is a storage box with a “drain slot” cut on one end of the inverted box cover to allow the nutrient to gravity drain back into the cistern.
We needed a seedling starter tray, so we used another section of plastic gutter capped on both ends. More on our seedling starter on an upcoming 3d printing post.
